UTP Campus Election: A Review From A Distance
Despite of my far distance from UTP due to my internship, I still take note of what happened in UTP. Especially, when the campus election season is back again.
The episode of 2005/2006 repeats itself when 6 candidates vying for 5 top posts in the high committee of MPPUTP. In the end, candidates #3, Mohd Ashraf was the odd one out while the other candidates, Haniff Humam, Mu'id, Ain R Asman, Jenani and Umair successfully won the election.
Oh right, the outcome from the election? There was rage from most of the students, pissed off with the outcome of the election.
If I was there, I was also pissed off as well. Reason? I saw Acap's potential after reading his manifesto blog. His maturity, the way of he deals with provocation really interests me after all.
As one of the former candidates of MPPUTP 2008/2009, I know how it feels to be the loser. Let say, I was the loser from the beginning, where there was a massive walkout when I started my speech, yeah, since I am the last speaker of the night. But well, those were the days.
But Acap's defeat is on the end of his career. The journey has just begin for him since he's First Year Second Semester. There is a long way to go, kid.
Anyway, what's next for MPPUTP? Whether it would be the continuation of the past dynasty of MPPUTP or the new emergence of the new breed of MPPUTP. Only the 5 key players have the answers.
I knew that there is no election for program constituency since they won uncontested. But can anyone post up their names? So that, I know who they really are.
I might be already out from the mainstream scene of UTP, but I am still watching from a distance. Watching whether it would be better or it would be worse.
Gah, I should focus on my e-sports career for now instead! :D
